BRAD BEDFORD

Brad Bedford is a dedicated financial professional with deep roots in community service. He was raised all throughout Elgin County but now calls London home. Brad has been an active member of his community for over 40 years and is always getting involved however he can. From spending 8 years of his life as a Big Brother to currently being a 16 year member of the St. Thomas Kinsmen Club and countless fundraising events in between, there isn’t much that Brad hasn’t found his hands in. When asked to reflect on his lifetime of involvement and provide a personal favourite, Brad highlights his experience as being the first Big Brother in Canada to have more than one brother at a time, which is exactly where his relationship with Bill began. His passion for volunteering has become a foundational element of Bedford Financial. Brad is committed to regularly finding ways to donate and serve the communities his clients call home, reflecting a core principle of giving back that permeates the entire firm.

An avid fisherman and traveller, he has an office in London but his favourite office is the outdoors. He prefers to conduct business in good company and although you may think he’s referring to his incredible business partners, he’s probably actually referring to his chocolate lab, Maggie. When asked why he chose a career in finance, Brad explained that helping people has always been his passion, and he sees finance as a means to achieve that goal. His favourite aspect of his job is the personal connection he builds with clients, ensuring they feel well taken care of.

BILL BREKELMaNS

Bill Brekelmans, a dedicated member of the Dorchester Kinsmen Club for 13 years, embodies the spirit of community service that Bedford Financial values. In his personal life, Bill balances his career with the joys of raising his daughter alongside his wife. When he isn’t working, you can find him tearing up a local racetrack behind the wheel of a race car or fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

When asked what inspired Bill’s journey into finance, his response was simple yet moving; “Brad,” who Bill has known since he was just a boy. Over the years they’ve created a bond that can’t be broken. Their friendship, rooted in mutual respect, has shaped Bill's approach to his profession, where he prioritizes placing others first—an ethos he admired in Brad since childhood. For Bill, the most rewarding aspect of his job at Bedford is the opportunity to help clients realize their aspirations, as he is deeply passionate about supporting people in achieving their goals.

KAREN GOODWIN

Karen Goodwin joined the team at Bedford Financial in 2024, bringing with her over nine years of experience in the finance industry and a desire to help people navigate the sometimes confusing world of insurance and investing. Outside of her professional role, Karen dedicates her time to her husband and three children and can often be found on a baseball diamond, golf course, volleyball court or ball hockey rink enjoying the many sports she and her family love.

Karen's passion for finance stems from her desire to help individuals navigate their financial challenges, as she believes that achieving financial health is more than just managing day-to-day expenses and planning for the future. She loves to honour the goals of her clients, such as purchasing a first home or ensuring a comfortable retirement, while also taking into account the twists and turns of life. As she articulates, "What point is working so hard to achieve financial health and stability if you’re not protected from the unexpected?"

Karen finds joy in the individuality of each client she serves. Reflecting on her role, she states, "I love that every client I meet is unique and has their own goals, dreams, and challenges to overcome. It’s a new puzzle each and every time." For Karen, the process of helping clients navigate their hurdles and reach aspirations they once deemed unattainable is deeply fulfilling. Each interaction is not just a transaction; it’s an opportunity to guide clients toward a secure and successful financial future while building relationships based on trust and respect along the way.
